Some twenty years since the internet has become a defining part of daily human life, and five years since social media has become a portable and normative vehicle of human interaction critical questions are emerging as to their effects on relationships, children, civil society and the sense of the sacred. Scholars from across Canada and the U.S. will gather at the Newman Centre on September 16-17 to address the question of social media, to evaluate our successes and failures in integrating our digital tools, and to seek norms that might guide us to greater human freedom and flourishing.
